Vitamin D on the track.

I got a good dose of some 'sunshine vitamin', while running on the track today. After running an easy 2 mile warm up in 65 degree temperatures I realized my long sleeve t-shirt would have to come off if I was to be comfortable running 3 fast 1 mile repeats.
I'm not sure how many IU's of vitamin D I absorbed while running the splits in 5:52, 5:50, 5:48 respectfully, but I did feel strong and enjoyed the beautiful sunny afternoon today.
I could get use to adding some 'sunshine vitamin' supplement to my diet too.

Sweet splits! Mile repeats are where it's at! Have you devised a race strategy for Boston yet?

Hi! I found your blog when searching for bike trainer workouts. I have a question about using bike trainers that I have scoured the net for but have still not found an answer. I was hoping that maybe you or your readers might be able to help me..

I've been doing a lot of my riding on the trainer because it's either too dark or too cold in the mornings (when I have time for riding). I'm really enjoying using the bike trainer, but it takes quite a while to set up the bike in the trainer and take it out of the trainer after each workout. Do you know if it's safe to leave the bike loaded in the bike trainer between workouts? Does anyone here have any good/bad experience with doing that?

Thanks in advance,
Alan

Wow, can't wait to see you fly at Boston.

By the way how do you like the First workouts?

Brian, yes I think I have a race strategy for boston and I hope to post it soon.

al, I leave my bike setup on the trainer during indoor training but I do release the tension from the roller to the wheel after each workouts, so the back wheel spins freely and the pressure is off the wheel. I do this all the time and see no problems.

qcmier, I used FIRST for Columbus and was successful with it and feel I should be prepared and have success in Boston too. I can give you more details if you want via email.

Wasn't it beautiful earlier this week? I hit some pretty awesome hills and really enjoyed the brief time outside. Too bad it had to snow! But we'll get spring back soon!

Awesome splits, by the way. Good luck with all of your races and training. You're a true inspiration!

Vit D is so important too. Supposed to ward off cancer and all sorts of evil according to an article in Reader's Digest. Get LOT'S of it!
