Here is a little movie clip from NIKE advertising the Free running shoe but 95% of the movie shows people performing athletic events without shoes. If so many people are doing things barefoot why would they or any one else need to spend $75.00 on shoes they can do without? Just run barefoot. But, if anyone uses these pups let me know what you think of them.

I really want to try to run up at the track barefoot when IM is over! I am very curious and inspired by your barefoot running. :) A little afraid to try anything new this close to race day, so I will have to stay in suspense until then!
Louie Man! My guy works for Nike, so I have a little 'in' to the goods. ;) I'm looking at my closet right now and I own 7 pairs of Free's. They are by far my favorite running shoes. I also run in the new Shox. I have to say once you get beyond the half mary distance, you might need more support, depending on what you're used to. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!
I'm with trisaratops- after the season I'm going to try barefoot once. I'm sure I won't beat a bunch of kids like you did though.
LOL I must say that when the little skeleton feet started tapping their toes I tapped mine too :)
I say the Free is lame, little shoes for big price. How much are the vibrams though?
I wish I could run barefoot everywhere, I would save so much money! But these feet need a little support!
Good question..Papa Louie. You gotta love marketing :)..
Cool commercial - I hadn't seen it before! Not sure about those Nike Free shoes - I think I need a little more stability/cushioning for longer runs? I saw someone wearing them during the Cleveland marathon this year, and thought that was pretty crazy. let us know what you think if you get some!
I've never seen the point in these either. Briar, my 9 year old LOVES to run barefoot. During the Little League baseball "skills" competition this year, he pulled off his cleats and ran the bases barefoot - beating his "with cleats PR" by over 2 seconds.
