Annoying Gnats!

How do you avoid
Swarms of gnats
While running or biking in the park?
Those pesky little flies are here to stay
and get in our hair, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth
to frustrate us while out in the park.
Do I have to go back on the trainer and treadmill
to avoid the annoying gnats?
No, I'll keep my dew rag on, glasses on, finger in ear, plug my nose, and keep my mouth shut.

Yes, I was just thinking it's almost mayfly season....or the "midgies" too...the one thing I don't love about living right on Lake Erie! Makes for some interesting runs. :) Protein, I guess....hee hee

Not every day but during sping it happens that here too, just hope they don't go in to my nose!

I swallowed a few last night while doing sprints. Ugh. Bug spray doesn't help either. Those buggers must really want to suck my blood.

With the start of biking this year, I have started to have issues with getting bugs in my mouth! So annoying!

I grew up in the midwest and remember the bugs. Out here in Oregon, it's the rain, but no bugs.
Love the quote in your last post- and the book- got that from the library one time- great book!

Thankfully I sweat so much and smell so bad that the bugs don't like to bother me much. :)

Here is a wonderful idea that works! While running use a dryer sheet rolled around your collar or just inside your clothing around your neck. The little buggers hate it and it protects against masquitos as well. If you don't like that you can use absorbing jr. as a repellant, it works if you don't mind the smell. Happy running.
